Referendum posters still litter Castletroy
POSTERS from the Fiscal Treaty referendum are still hanging on lamp posts in Castletroy. Several ‘No’ posters erected by the organisation Libertas have not been removed from lamp posts outside the University of Limerick and Castletroy Park Hotel. Election posters must be removed seven days after the election has taken place. If they are not removed within that time, they are considered litter and liable for on the spot fines of €150. The referendum took place on 31 May, meaning the posters still hanging in the Castletroy area have been in breach of regulations for three weeks.
