The University of Limerick last week was ranked within the top 150 of the 2016 Times Higher Education (THE) Young Universities of the World.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The \u2018150 Under 50\u2019 ranking applies the same performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings, with young universities measured on their teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Commenting on last week\u2019s announcement the University of Limerick Vice President Academic and Registrar, Professor Paul McCutcheon said: \u201cThis latest accolade comes during a period of increasing international recognition of the growing status of the University.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are widely recognised for the outstanding student experience we offer to all our students, the excellence of our research and the impact UL is making on our society and our economy. UL has also recently been ranked 139th<\/sup> out of 800 worldwide institutions based on an international outlook indicator.\u00a0 This THE ranking rates Universities who place internationalisation high on their strategic agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 2015 UL held the title of The Sunday Times University of the Year and has recently been ranked in 16th place globally for its work towards making the university more sustainable and environmentally friendly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

UL also was rewarded with a Green Campus accreditation under the Energy, Biodiversity and Travel and Transport themes last year.<\/p>\n
