Yesterday, Aramark handed out flyers to UL students about their link to direct provision<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The catering company who run most food outlets on campus were handing out flyers with \u2018The Facts\u2019 on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

An Focal’s front page this month focuses on UL Student Life\u2019s campaign to end direct provision, highlighting Aramark\u2019s contribution to Munster\u2019s direct provision centres.<\/span><\/p>\n

A distributor of the newspaper was handed a flyer while delivering copies of the latest edition.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The flyers state that Aramark provides \u201cquality services\u201d to help make the lives of their residents \u201cmore comfortable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cAramark is an ethical and responsible company,\u201d the flyers state.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The final paragraph urges readers to consider the thousands of Irish jobs that Aramark provide, and the support that the company gives to local businesses and suppliers.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Three weeks ago, ULSL announced the \u201cStudents Against Direct Provision\u201d campaign. <\/span><\/p>\n

During SoUL week, ULSL held an information evening on direct provision and its impacts, while the Feminist Society and the Islamic Society held a \u201cFood for Thought\u201d information event on direct provision.<\/span><\/p>\n

University of Sanctuary recipient and UL student Donnah Vuma, who lives in a direct provision centre run by Aramark, responded to the flyer on twitter saying:<\/p>\n

Doesn’t matter how its framed, there’s no way to justify instutionalised living which infatalises people. Fact is they are making massive profits out of the misery of so many including myself and my children! #EndDirectProvision<\/a> https:\/\/t.co\/2NEoYJzsty<\/a><\/p>\n
