UL Alumni honoured three esteemed graduates at the 13<\/span>th<\/span> Annual UL Alumni Awards Gala Dinner last Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of graduates of the University of Limerick.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Those honoured at the event include Business leader Niall Browne, renowned Academic Prof. Brigid Laffan and Social Entrepreneur Michael Kelly<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

UL President Dr Des Fitzgerald said: \u201cThis event is very much a celebration of the achievements and contributions of three amazing people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 2018 UL Alumni Awards celebration, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, took place at Limerick\u2019s Castletroy Park Hotel, with UL alumna Juliette Gash, Multimedia Reporter with RTE as Event MC.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over 200 guests attended the black tie dinner, supported by Analog Devices Ireland, Cantor Fitzgerald, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), Ronan Daly Jermyn\u00a0(RDJ) Solicitors and Stryker Ireland.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

The three honourees were awarded for their respective achievements in the fields of business, academia and society.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Niall Browne was awarded for his contributions to Business as CEO of Dawn Meats, an Irish company with operations across the globe.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Prof. Brigid Laffan was honoured for her contributions to Academia as Director of the\u00a0Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Michael Kelly was honoured for his contributions to Society on the back of his not-for-profit \u00a0organisation, Grow it Yourself (GIY) with over 500,000 clients across Ireland.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Since its inception in 2006, forty-three UL alumni have now been honoured including rugby legend Tony Ward, composer Patrick Cassidy and former Riverdance star Jean\u00a0<\/span>Butler.<\/span><\/p>\n
