The nominees for the <\/span>\u00a02019 National Student Media Awards were announced little under an hour ago. <\/span><\/p>\n

University of Limerick has secured eleven nominations overall across eight separate categories.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both UL student newspapers, An Focal and The Limerick Voice, received nominations in this year\u2019s Website of the Year category.<\/span><\/p>\n

An Focal are also listed in the People\u2019s Choice award which readers can vote for <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The fourth year journalism paper, The Limerick Voice also earned itself a nomination in the Best Layout and Design Category.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 2019 Smedias will take place on April 11th, 2019 in the Aviva Stadium at 7pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Newspaper of the Year and Editor of the Year have yet to be announced.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aisling O\u2019Connor has been nominated for <\/span>Blog\/Vlog of the Year<\/b> for her literary blog, <\/span>This Dream\u2019s Alive.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

Scholarship student from Beijing Sports University, Mingyang Pang, is nominated for<\/span> Sports Photographer of the Year<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social Media manager for The Limerick Voice, <\/span>Federica Montella<\/span><\/a> is nominated <\/span>for Arts & Culture Features Writer.<\/b><\/p>\n

News & Features reporter for The Limerick Voice, <\/span>Emil Trahan<\/span><\/a> is nominated for <\/span>Radio Production – News & Current Affairs<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kathleen O\u2019Sullivan received a nomination in the News & Current Affairs – Feature Writer<\/strong> category.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ronan Coughlan and Ivan Smyth received a nod in the\u00a0Radio Production \u2013 Arts & Features\u00a0<\/strong>category for their sports show on ULFM Beyond The Game<\/a><\/p>\n

Last, but not least, both fourth year students from UL Journalism, <\/span>Evie Kearney<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Muireann Duffy<\/span><\/a> are nominated for the prestigious, Journalist of the Year<\/strong> category.<\/span><\/p>\n
