Load up those Snapchat filters and overthought Instagram captions; Nando’s is opening in Limerick.<\/p>\n

The South African chain already has 15 restaurants in Dublin, Cork, Derry and Belfast, but now UL students won’t have to travel far to get a dab of Peri-Peri sauce.<\/p>\n

As revealed by the Limerick Leader’s Fintan Walsh on today’s front page, the restaurant will be located at the Crescent shopping centre and will be a two-storey development.<\/a><\/p>\n

Nando’s being a 304 bus ride from Stables away or 15-minute drive away from campus is a very tempting and tasty prospect.<\/p>\n

The plan was approved by Limerick City and County Council in April, however details of the exact nature of the restaurant weren’t submitted in the original planning files, which was sent in last December to the Council.<\/p>\n

A Nando’s spokesperson confirmed to the Limerick Leader that “we can’t wait to start working on the new resturant which will open in 2020,” with the article adding that there are provisional plans for the Limerick branch of Nando’s to open in July 2020.<\/p>\n

Nando’s was founded in South Africa in 1987, and since then has grown to 1,000 branches worldwide, with the chain proving especially popular in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

This is great news for Freshers: Nando’s will be a consistent presence in Limerick during their time in UL.<\/p>\n

Bad news for final year students: Nando’s will only open after they graduate – but at least there’s always the option of doing a masters if the lure of hot sauce is that tempting.<\/p>\n
