We all remember what it was like to be in those first few years of secondary school.<\/p>\n

The only thing that could\u2019ve made our lives even better was social media.<\/p>\n
More specifically, our involvement in social media.<\/p>\n
And the senseless thought process that our Facebook posts were just so, so cool.<\/p>\n
Just to remind ourselves of how unreal we all actually were, let\u2019s take a trip down Facebook memory lane and thank the Lord that we grew up.<\/p>\n
Like for the one who \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n Let\u2019s be honest; this was to 2011 Facebook what Vine compilations are to 2019.<\/p>\n Everyone did these, and I personally found them to be a significant confidence boost.<\/p>\n This was the post where all of your real friends commented, \u201cLong one xx\u201d under.<\/p>\n This was the post you spent hours replying to a Tuesday night even though you had double Maths first thing in the morning.<\/p>\n I can still picture my pre-braces and somewhat squirrel-like teeth smiling while reading about how \u201csound\u201d and \u201cfunny\u201d I was. *sigh*<\/p>\n Like for H.O<\/strong><\/p>\n This was a little downgrade from \u2018Like for da one who\u2019 but still deserves merit.<\/p>\n Another similarity between the two is that they could be written \u2018in chat.\u2019 How exciting.<\/p>\n If you were ever on a sleepover at your friends, there was a big change of \u201cLike for a H.O off me and @_____.\u201d<\/p>\n Like for shift or pass<\/p>\n A classic of the genre.<\/p>\n If the person you liked \u2018liked\u2019 this post, it was absolute anarchy.<\/p>\n The messenger group chat was given a fresh breath of life.<\/p>\n Next stop: park.<\/p>\n A moment of silence for all those who were passed. Add me on snapchat: __________<\/strong><\/p>\n This was truly the start of something new: The era of Snapchat.<\/p>\n Much like the discovery of penicillin or the moon landing, society was changed forever with the invention of Snapchat.<\/p>\n We all remember the \u201canyone on\u2019s\u201d, no blue chat, and just a single line of text.<\/p>\n This is where friendships blossomed, and many questionable decisions (and friends) were made.<\/p>\n The Best Friends (RIP) were just the best source of goss.<\/p>\n Never was there ever an easier way of finding who was involved with who #BringBackSnapchatBestFriends.<\/p>\n The classic frape<\/strong><\/p>\n This could be anything.<\/p>\n The sky was the limit.<\/p>\n Your imagination could concoct anything in the world and transform it into a frape.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, we were 13, and our minds could not think beyond certain topics.<\/p>\n \u201cI love ______, \u201c and anything remotely inappropriate were popular picks.<\/p>\n No make-up challenge<\/strong><\/p>\n Lol is the first word that comes to mind.<\/p>\n This is also around the time of the classic duck face pout, which was accompanied by fetus faces for this challenge.<\/p>\n No one escaped this.<\/p>\n Your friends made sure you were nominated.<\/p>\n At the time, it was fun.<\/p>\n We all thought we were so good looking.<\/p>\n We were severely mistaken.<\/p>\n The Ice Bucket challenge<\/p>\n None of us actually donated; we just wanted to do the challenge.<\/p>\n Without looking it up, what disease was the ice bucket challenge designed to raise awareness for?<\/p>\n Going into back gardens during the summer months in our tank tops and shorts with a family member recording on our brand new iPhone 5.<\/p>\n Nominations were made, cold water was thrown, and no one pointed out the inherent irony in wasting water while recording it on a device made from rare earth metals.<\/p>\n Of course, there was always that one gobshite who managed to stay dry.<\/p>\n And that one person who screamed like they were stuck in a horror movie.<\/p>\n Those were the days.<\/p>\n The Disco Photos<\/strong><\/p>\n Ugly 2000\u2019s dressing.<\/p>\n Peace and pout poses for the women.<\/p>\n Lads making the weird \u2018call me\u2019 hand gesture with their thumb and pinky sticking out.<\/p>\n Not a good looking face between the whole lot.<\/p>\n A blind man could see the awkwardness.<\/p>\n Honourable mentions:<\/p>\n Like for a <3 under your profile pic<\/p>\n Not going to lie; this one was just completely unnecessary.<\/p>\n Anyone who did this should be ashamed of themselves.<\/p>\n Flipagram and collages for birthdays<\/p>\n These consisted of mainly Snapchat screenshots, weird videos and just random photos.<\/p>\n If you were a proper best friend there this would be a three-part presentation.<\/p>\n All the weird nicknames and lame inside jokes were included.<\/p>\n Those of us who were bold included photos of the friend\u2019s current love interest just in case it wasn\u2019t completely obvious already.<\/p>\n The tradition still lives on in 28-part Instagram stories, but with your help, we can end garish happy birthday posts on social media.<\/p>\n![\"Image](\"https:\/\/icdn2.digitaltrends.com\/image\/digitaltrends\/does-blue-light-really-affect-your-sleep.jpg\")
