UL 2-0 DCU<\/p>\n
UL rounded of the year with a crucial win over Collingwood champions DCU to retain their Premier Divison status.<\/p>\n
The final game of the season was a do or die affair for UL, who were seeking revenge for their Collingwood cup semi final exit at the hands of the same opponent.<\/p>\n
The weather made playing conditions pretty tough for both teams in the first half. It was UL that went into the half time break with a 1-0 lead thanks to Adam Foley.<\/p>\n
After Tom Carney broke out of defence and went on a run he teed up striker Adam Foley who turned before firing the ball to the net to give UL the lead.<\/p>\n
The second half was tense where both teams cancelled each other out before UL bagged a second goal to leave the Collingwood cup champions too much to do.<\/p>\n
It was again Adam Foley on target in the second half. After excellent work from Colm Barrett he played through Foley who found the net from 25 yards to leave UL in control of the game.<\/p>\n
UL saw out the game and got revenge for their semi final loss to DCU.<\/p>\n
So the result saw the Collingwood Cup Champions been relegated from the division as UL stay up.<\/p>\n
The win ends a mixed season for UL soccer and also draws to a close the third level careers of a number of great servants to the club<\/p>\n
