Controversgirl?
Controversial?
Spelling mistake? Cheesy joke? Or maybe a little of both.

Regardless, the name has a certain ring to it- it’s got spirit.

You see, controversy is the aim of the game.

As the saying goes: “people are gonna judge you no matter what you do, so why not do something you love”.

Still not following?

Controversy, as many of us know it, is a term reserved for the shit stirred up by know-it-all losers
who lurk on Twitter in the dark of night picking fights with their shadows.

However, there are certain instances where the meaning can spread a little further a-field than internet trolls.

For example, have you ever thought about wearing an outfit that’s a few hundred feet outside of
your usual comfort zone? Maybe the neck lines a little bit lower than usual? Or it looks like a
little girl got sick pink all over it?

Thing is you never even get that far to wearing it.

The little voice in the back of your head keeps nagging you: “what’s Mary from next door gonna think”..
“what if everybody laughs at me” .. “it’s just easier being basic, don’t dare step out of your box”.

Sheer and utter fear stops you. Fear of the opinions of others, fear of rejection .. fear of
controversy of sorts.

But that all stops today.

In typical cheesy advert form, “I’m the answer to your problems”.

I’m not going to tell you I’m your Carrie Bradshaw (although that’d be a plus), but I am here in this cosy little column for the foreseeable future to give you your feed of fashion advice and perhaps inspire you to take the first step out of your comfort zone and into the world of endless outfit possibilities.
