Cuirfear tús le Seachtain na Gaeilge ar an 1 Márta agus beidh sí ar siúl go dtí Lá Fhéile Pádraig, an 17 Márta. Mar sin, bí cinnte páirt a ghlacadh in aon imeachtaí inar féidir leat, ach níos tábhachtaí, do chuid Gaeilge a úsáid!

Is féile bhliantúil Ghaeilge í Seachtain na Gaeilge, agus meastar í ar cheann de na ceiliúrtha idirnáisiúnta is mó ar theanga dhúchais agus ar chultúr na hÉireann, le himeachtaí ar siúl ar fud an domhain.

Anseo in Ollscoil Luimnigh, tá an Cumann Gaelach ag súil go mór leis na seachtainí amach romhainn, le neart imeachtaí beartaithe: maidin caife, tae & plé, pizza & plé, ceol traidisiúnta, cluichí boird, oícheanta tábhairne, aoichainteoirí, agus go leor eile! – tá fáilte roimh chách, idir nua-thosaitheoirí, agus Gaeilgeoirí atá líofa sa teanga cheana féin.

Tugann Seachtain na Gaeilge deis iontach do gach duine againn ár gcaidreamh leis an teanga a scrúdú agus meas a léiriú uirthi. Beidh ranganna idirnáisiúnta á reáchtáil i rith na seachtaine, agus beidh Oíche Ghaelach againn ar an gcampas do chách.

Más mian leat tuilleadh eolais a fháil faoinár n-imeachtaí, is féidir leat muid a leanúint ar Instagram @cumann_gaelach_ol nó ríomhphost a chur chugainn (gaeilgeol@gmail.com) agus is féidir linn ár nuachtlitir a roinnt leat.

Tá muid ag súil go mór le bualadh le cairde nua sna seachtainí amach romhainn agus muid ag ceiliúradh ár dteanga dhúchais le chéile. Thar aon rud eile, an rud is tábhachtaí ar fad le déanamh ná do chúpla focal a úsáid! Cuimhnigh “Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste”.

English Translation:

Seachtain na Gaeilge will commence on the 1st of March and will run until St. Patrick’s Day, the 17th of March. So be sure to take part in any events where you can, but more importantly, use your Irish!

Seachtain na Gaeilge is an annual Irish language festival, and is considered one of the largest international celebrations of the native language and culture of Ireland, with events taking place around the world.

Here at the University of Limerick, the Cumann Gaelach is looking forward to the coming weeks, with plenty of events planned: coffee morning, tea & convo, pizza & convo, traditional music, board games, nights out, guest speakers, and much more! – everyone is welcome, from beginners to Gaeilgeoirí who are already fluent in the language.

Seachtain na Gaeilge provides an excellent opportunity for all of us to examine and respect our relationship with the language. We will be running international classes during the week, and we will have an Irish Night on campus for anyone who wants to join us.

If you would like to find out more about our events, you can follow us on Insta @cumann_gaelach_ol or send us an email (gaeilgeol@gmail.com) and we can add you to our newsletter.

We look forward to meeting new friends in the coming weeks as we celebrate our native language together. Above all, the most important thing to do is to use your cúpla focal! Remember “Broken Irish is better than clever English”.
